Schonbrunn
Palace Garden, Vienna Austria
Schonbrunn
Palace, built between 1696 and 1713 during the
reigns of Emperor Charles VI and Maria Theresa, was supposed to
have been the Versailles of the Austrian Empire. Hidden away in
the French-style gardens,
which are themselves bigger than the principality of Monaco, are
some fake Roman ruins, the exuberant Neptune Fountain (a ensemble
from Greek mythology) and the triumphant Gloriette Monument.
