Map of Britain
Paris, France

The Eiffel Tower was built in commemoration of the French Revolution for the Paris World's Fair in 1889.

Alexendre-Gustave Eiffel designed the 984-foot (300 meter) open-lattice wrought iron tower.

The current height of the tower is 1069 feet.

The four pillars supporting the tower are aligned to the points of the compass. The tower can be used as a reference to find one’s way in Paris.
